gotta love NOT getting stock navi option

It left me all this room under the dash to put my GPS and wireless. Signals are suprisingly good.

It all depends what cover is made of. If it was metal then yeh, but it's plastic. Plastic is surprisingly good at transmitting radio signals.

Hah, that depends on the GPS too.. I get a 3D lock INSIDE my garage, two full layers of Wood (Roof) and Shingles on top (not to say, the car's windshield).

I have mine hidden DEEPPPPP inside the dash and the reception is NOT different than sitting on top of the dash.
BTW the dash is make out of CHEAP plastic. I think it has been going to atleast couple re-cycle cycle.

And 2K upgrade option from the dealer is a waste (IMHO). I am glad I didn't take that route.

And yes, the yellow Delorme Earthmate was able to see 4 sats when the car is in the garage (Composite single + wood + drywall + windshield + cheap plastic).

I haven't taken physics yet That's 12th grade. But yeh, plastic doesn't block the signals like metal does.
