Lol....ummm did u foget to put the RAM/MEMORY on the mb, that beeping usually means that. Also if you do have the rams in there, you might have it on the wrong bank.
Its been a while but I have finally collected all of the pieces for my system. Today I went to boot up for the first time and I am having problems.
I am first trying to test the comp in my house as to make sure it works, but thats the problem. It doesn't work. When I set the jumper on the mobo to boot from disk everything works mechanically speaking. But I get nothing on my monitor, which for now is a standard vga comp screen. The hard drive spins up, led's come on, fans go... but nothing on screen. Oh and my mobo beeps at me telling me it doesn't like something. I am not sure what it is though. the hard drive has everything already installed on it, and I am trying to boot with a boot disk.
When I boot up on any other jumper setting the fans spin for less than a second then everything dies on me.
The last time I actually built a comp from scratch was in high school, and I don't remember having any of these problems. Hopefully somebody can let me know what I am doing wrong. Thanks in advance.
In case it matters I am using an intel se440bx-2 mobo and pentium 2 350 processor.

make sure the video card is sitting in nice and tightly, try taking it out and reinstalling, same for the ram.

Thanks for the suggestions guys, I'll be sure to double check everything. My main concern though was whether or not I needed some other boot disk or something. Thanks again.
How many beeps were there? The number of beeps tells you what is wrong.

I am starting to get pretty restless here. there is one long beep followed by two shorter beeps. I don't have the manual though so hopefully somebody else can clue me in. Anyway, thanks for the help, and feel free to recommend any more ideas.
what kinda Bios do you have that would help with the beep codes.

I finally got my hands on the motherboard spec sheet and it is telling me that the beep code means there is a problem with the video card. So now I have to wait until I go back to College where I have my computer and a more up to date video card.
Does anyone know why older video cards will not work with newer boards? It makes no sense to me...but regardless, thanks for all the suggestions.
