Good ol' Doom II, runs great on my 233mh laptop, and if you haven't played it in a while, you should!

[QUOTE=gospeed.racer]The NES emulator I mentioned above lets you map a joystick or gamepad, my usb microsoft unit works great. linkie for the player and another linkie

You're the man!! exactly what i am after! since the controller only has directional and 4 other buttons , it's great and not even simple, but no configurations at all! thanks

No problem! Ever since I downloaded that stuff, I have been playing all the games and reliving my brief childhood I actually enjoy those old school games more than the new ones.

get some emulators of your favorite systems (snes, gba, and n64 for me) and a shytload of roms for each of them and your good to go. shell out some cash and you can get yourself a controller adapter for each system and use the original controllers (wireless if the systems ever had wireless controllers)

of course if you are looking for made-for-pc games, then id say anything made before 2000-ish should be low resource enough. i know i play midtown madness 2 and interstate 82 (both made pre-2000) alot and both ran on my old 333mhz machine just fine. a via should handle it no sweat.

OH OH OH. one more i forgot which is PERFECT for this setup. .....

    google ABA games.

then head to http://go.to/alicuu and download super cosplay war ultra. you'll need a download manager like flashget, but it's worth it.

then, use this link and enjoy marathon, the best goddamn game ever made: http://www.calormen.com/mwd.htm

you'll need a program like joytokey to play marathon with a USB gamepad, though.

that should keep you entertained for a while.
softmodded xbox, PSOne screen, inverter. simple and effective. Combine with PDA and head unit with aux input, and we're having a wonderful time.

Though would be cool if one of the programmers built a nice emu plugin for the front ends :P
