I just soldered in a 3.5mm jack lead to my pioneer hu, but im getting distortion. I tried out my mpman to test it (im working on mk2 of my mp3box), and it was really quiet, so i turned up the volume on the mpman. The sound was a bit louder, but not as loud as the fm radio, for example... the only problem is, i get distortion on the bass. I know it`s not the speakers, as they only distort at a much higher volume with tape/radio. having eq set to extra bass doesn`t help either

the only thing i think it could be is that the pioneer is having to amplify a signal thats too weak, making the amp distort.

btw, distortion occour on the rca outs AND the amplified outs on the headunit.

Has anyone else had this problem? Any helpful links or advice? It`s horrible having to listen to mp3's with the bass down
