I know what you're talking about....
I've experienced it too.
But I don't worry about it, as I don't have that sinking feeling if I miss something someone posts.
Flame away, if you must.
I will often hit "New Posts" and I get a list of the stuff I haven't read yet. Love that feature. I also search for posts I've made to see if others have responded. That works well, too.
However, I sometimes get interrupted or only read part of the new posts, for example, before I finish lunch. When I log back on and hit "new posts", I get only the posts that occurred since last I logged on.
I played around with the advanced search feature but it asks for a search term. Either I don't know what the wildcard term is, or it's not possible.
Any advice on how to pull up the last 'X' number of posts?
BTW- Ion this topic but didn't find an answer

Maybe you should consider using RSS feeds instead? I am currently catching new posts through SharpReader, but you might find better free RSS reader with bit of googling on web. I used to be catching new posts on main mp3car.com webpage by simpe reloading it time to time but its not nice now since new webpage is now hard to read and useless for this purpose.
BTW here if RSS feed URL:

Wow, I feel really really dumb. I always wondered why when I clicked new posts twice I got a whole lot less posts. Me=dumb.
CarPC install is starting to come along again...
I'm not as keen now with the new frontpage - I used to refresh everyso often and thats how I followed the forum, I'm struggling to keep up these days.

Ok, until I can see if I can get it added to the template, I've made two experimental
category links at the top:
"Posts From Last Day"
"Posts From Last 2 Days"
I will ask Zip-Lock if we can add these to the template and have them show up
as regular links with the rest.

If you're worried about screen real estate, it could be a choice that pops down like the seldom used "search" option.![]()
