hello, my friend has a 1988 or 89 acura legend. His car starts up, after 5 minutes he engine stalls. Also when that that happens the oil light comes on. I know for sure that he doesnt have low oil because his indicator on the engine says its full. anyone no the problem?

ECU in the distributer cap?
when was the last time you gave it a tune up?
sounds like a part getting warm/hot and causing the engine to loose spark.
heres what i would do before bringing it to a shop:
tune up (including plugs wires, distributer cap, rotor, ECU (electronic Control unit)
might cost 50-100 if you do it your self. Minus the plugs you should be able to do the rest in 20-30 minutes, its kinda a no brainer. I dont know where the plugs are located on the engine and what all is in the way to change them so i cant tell you how long that should take. If your mechanically inclined at all, and have some common sense you should be able to do this your self. Just remeber only remove 1 spark plug wire at a time. You swap 2 of those wires and your in a world of hurt trying to get the firing order right.
