NO, use mp3 tag info...artist + songname. Most mp3's out there are not nammed properlly and the same goes for the tag info.
Another usability question for our experts. We are looking at ways to make the display of ID3 tags safe for drivers while driving by applying some patented voice technology for a text to speech converter. So ther are several questions: 1) how much do you use ID3 tags and what fields; 2) what do you think about using voice to "read" ID3 tags 3) would you like to have the tags read concurrently with the start of a song (like a DJ mode on the radio) or would you like to have the tag read and then start the tune; 4) in the event that ID3 tags are not used on a disc, would it be acceptable to use a file name and if so how about a truncated filename???

there is a plugin for winamp, that does somewhat what your talking about. It uses microsoft agent technology. DJ Amp But the technology is far from perfection.

mp3designer: there is only one thing i'm curious about and that is why your email address is mp3designer@hotmail.com . why not something a little more professional?
Also, your idea is not very usable because of odd song names
i.e. Stacie Orrico - 0.0 Baby (the 0's are zeros)
exactly....this was what i was saying. I have seen all sorts of names for mp3 out there.
