    Smile Recommend a good computer

Recently, my grandpa's old computer took a crap on him. No clue why, but it just won't turn on anymore, the fans spin, but nothing otherwise. So he wants to get a new computer to have as a backup, and because he already spend some money trying to fix the old one up (cd rom, wifi, PSU). So yeh, I'd like a recommendation on what to get. It does not need to be a speed deamon, and should be relatively cheap.

    What is needed:
    CPU
Motherboard (if AMD CPU then a nForce chipset, if Intel CPU then Intel chipset)
    Memory

    Thanks

For you grandfather, you may want to hit up slickdeals.net or fatwallet.com and check out there recent Dell deals. You can usually get something nice for like $400-500. If you're set on building a bargain PC, then check the classified section...I could have sworn I saw a P3 combo there...

Then I would go w/ a P3 1GHz w/ at least 512mb SDRam. As long as it'll fit in the current case, then that should be all he'll need.

I want something a bit more beefier than a P3. The old computer was an Asus w/P3 667mhz @ 750mhz.
