Doh, do I feel stupid now. Answer to my questions; yes and no - a wrench works.

Quick question:
Do I just line the cable up with the connector and crimp? Also do I need a $20-$30 crimp tool or will a wrench work fine?

Yeah, I see stacks of posts like this, someone asks a question, and then answers it themself, in a new post,
(they could just edit the old one) and I get accused of useless posting??? does this make sense??? hhmm....
i actually think it is great that people give an answer to a question even if they asked the question. that way when i have the same question the answer is here. jmho

For what it's worth, I just always use a vice. Wider than pliers, so it provides even pressure.

yeah, vice all the way..
also, does anyone know how to crimp those telephone type plugs??? like the RJ45 Without destroying them or using a proper crimping tool??? I have tried before without much luck...
Yeah, so, I got blocked, I like the ability to be able to log in.. I will reduce my posting over the next week or so, as long as my old account gets reactivated... Okay... :)
Simple...buy a crimping tool. I've had to make do with a flathead screwdriver before, but it's a pain in the @$$. I'll just say it's doable, but not a fun experience.
My friend tried to crimp an IDE cable with a hammer! All I saw were the leftover pieces after he was done but it was pretty funny!
