    Big Carputer Howto

I've taken on a new project. There seems to be no one big carputer howto. I am going to create one.

Here is the progress after one day:

Any contributions will NOT go uncredited, so help me out in any way you can. Let's see if we can't smash that newbie section.

Pictures. You need pictures. Even if they aren't your own. I don't need the how-to myself, but I know without pictures, its going to be useless to alot of noobs out there.

Great idea though. You beat me to it.

And are you going to have further sections on each section covered already? Like hook up diagrams and the such for each device covered?

Well for instance, you cover shutdown/startup controllers, but only really that they exist. You don't cover ins and outs on how to use them. Same with the inverters. Like using a relay to turn it on and off, etc. And even though self explainatory to most, amps. A complete newbie may need help on things like that.

And one part you left out...fuses!

And one thing you should add to it, just as I'm thinking about it, cables. Better cables vs cheapy cables, shielding and such. Just one thing I thought of. I'm sure I could come up with lots of stuff.

I intend to create a basic car wiring section. Would you mind writing about wire?

Pictures will be coming very soon.

Not to be picky but I'm assuming this is intended for a noob. In section 2.1 you say

But the first thing you actually cover is the barebones (or whatever you want to call it) of the carputer. This might cause some confusion. How about saying something like:

    Otherwise good start...

Sure. Let me write something up when I get to work. Because of course...I won't have anything better to do.
