Carputer in '04 Saturn Ion Coupe

Has anyone done this with this model or one similar. I saw pictures online from come guy in MI who did it, but his results weren't that appealing to me. I am looking for something neat and clean.

I am looking to buy parts to put a carputer in my Ion and just want to konw what parts worked well for others. Thanks in advance!

if by gauge you mean head unit.. then yes

by guage cluster i mean guage cluster--speedo, fuel guage, etc.

cause I think it would be kickass if you made a pod to put the screen where the guages are supposed to go. You know, right in front of you.

Those funky guages are what's keeping me from buying an ION. I didnt know if they had fixed it.

FUNKY GUAGES!! I know at first they were funky to me to but now I really like it there. Not so much for looks but for ease of use. Your hand/steering wheel doesn't get in the way and its only a slight turn of your head and you see all of your guages.

Second I thought about doing the screen there, but I would be too worried about being pulled over for having a screen that visable. I would be fined for sure. Plus it would get pretty annoying to have the screen glaring in your face, even with gamma dimming. The double din also fit the lilli 7" so good I just couldn't resist.

But I went somewhat cheap on things so if your not that tight on money I can suggest some better parts.
