    anyone here use a thinkpad with docking station in the car?

    Just wondering if anyone here is using an IBM thinkpad with docking station as their carputer?
    also has the connection between the laptop and docking station held up over bumps and rough roads???

    It's entirely possible and should be very feasible too. IBM makes an DC/DC switchable AC/DC adaptor for the road warrior on plane/car/hotel use and coupled with the port replicator it should be a great combination. All you'll have to do is find a place to mount the port replicator securely. The Thinkpad 600 comes with a very sturdy port replicator that can be mounted securely under the seat. I think I have a spare T600 to experiment too. Will give result when I'm finish. Only thing that have to be added is a remote stratup shutdown device that will turn the Laptop on on ignition power on, maybe a hybrid wakeon lan. Hmmmmmm..........
