How to kill a battery... fast?

Rebuilding a 70 VW Bug, has a terrible oooollllldddd les schwab brand battery in it, unfortunatetly it can still hold a charge, pops said we can get an optima as soon as this thing craps out. Whats the fastest or an effective way to kill it?

Open the cap and dilute the acid with water.

easy method i found is connect a 1,500 watt amp to it and forget to turn off the ignition.

omg dad, i left my stereo on, can i get a jump

after the jump do it again. you will effectively probably kill a cell or 2 in that battery.

1" spanner across the terminals should do the trick. Just don't be holding the spanner at the same time!!

basically, just drain it completely dead (i wouldn't recomment shorting the terminals without resistance....the battery could explode....) or you could dump some baking soda in the cells....

You might also explain to him that the rust generated from your old battery will cost more than the optima.

After spending a summer restoring a 66 1/2 bug I swore I would never own a regular battery again. The battery tray was totally rotted away and a piece of plywood was in its place.

hey, he wanted the battery dead..? didnt he..!

but normal batteryes dont like total drain, så as others have said, leave the stereo turned on, or the lights (the stereo will turn it self off when the voltage is about 8-9 volts, the lightbulb will keep trying until the battery is ALL dead, and when youre done there, short the terminals to complet the assasination..!
