    Odd standby issue

Hey all, quick question about S1/S3 standby.. I tried all kinds of searching but can't dig up any good info on this:

I've been trying to get S1/S3 standby working with my Insight P4-ITX, but it's just not happening.

Not that it doesn't go into standby mode - it does that just fine, however when I start the car/puter up again, the system powers back up (fans start spinning) but the system never resumes. Xenarc keeps on with the rapid blinking, and I have to kill the power to the computer to get it to boot again.

I haven't tested it out of the car yet, but was wondering if anyone else has come across this in the past?

    Thanks..

    Dave

don't quote me on this, but I thought that in order to bring the computer out of standby one has to press a key or trigger some kind of event (mouse click, etc), is your PSU or SDC supposed to be doing this for you? maybe some more details on your setup

PS. i'm not sure, but I think that the touchscreen is not powered during standby so that may not constitute an event

The Opus generates the power button "press" when I turn the ignition on again, at which point the PC starts whirring again, so there is an event that changes the status of the PC.. it just never gets "boots" back to the OS.

What other related details can I post?

    WinXP SP2
    Centrafuse 1.2
    Insight P4-ITX
    Opus 150
    Xenarc 700TS
    D-Link 7-port USB hub
    XMPCR
    3Com HomeConnect USB cam
    Zippy Keyboard
    Earthmate GPS

Hmmm..... I would try doing hibernation and see if that works....it may be a problem with cutting off power while in standby..... eh, I don't know, I've never played with the Opus so I'm not sure on how it operates exactly, just trying to help

My laptop was doing that, and I never did figure out what was causing the problem, if anyone has a solution, I would be interested to hear it.

No problem, thanks for your help. =)

Hibernation works, but it a) doesn't save any startup time worth mentioning and b) causes other issues with XMPCR and GPS.

Cold-booting the system only takes ~45 seconds til music and is fine, just wondering if anyone had any insight into why my suspend/resume doesn't work properly.

Even though this thread is old i though it was worth mentioning for any future searchers that Myself and jcdillin have this exact same problem and there is an effort underway to obtain a new bios file
