    Post irman extra eye

I am planning on adding an extra eye to my irman. I tried to open the box to see what th e part number is on the ir sensor. However there is not any screws on the box. I was wondering how other people have opened it up with out totally wrecking it. Also what type of ir sensor have people added?

    Cheers

Have a look at Ties Bos' (the bloke who created IRman) web site He's got the circuit diagram there.

Or for a different circuit have a look at this web site

I hope one of these is of help to you.

the irman uses the tsop1736 BUT MY GUESS ANY OF THE FOLLOWING WILL DO

    tsop1838
    tsop1836
    tsop1736

the 1838 is the small package be sure to see the data sheet before you try to do anything !

    Mastero,
I'm told the 1736 is out of production, but I did find data on the 1836. You happen to know an online source for purchasing this thing? I tried digikey, conrad, and a couple of others, but they all claim not to know what I'm talking about.

i have just ordered 5 tsop 1736s from rs electronics in the uk - so there must be some kicking about even if have discontinued production. cost was 4.75 + vat and 4.95 delivery - I guess I got stung, but I didnt need to order anything else, and I needed this part as I managed to snap the 'legs' off at the base of the unit yesterday!
