I was driving down a highway a few weeks ago and wasn't paying much attention because it was near the end of an 8 hour trip and there was hardly anyone out. I'd seen a lot of just plain bad drivers on the road that night, going 40 in the left lane (65 mph zone), others swerving all over, etc.
About a mile before my exit there was someone going about 50 in the middle lane and I just wanted to get home so I blew past him on the left at close to 80 ... guess what's in front of him, so close that it looked like the cars were mating: a Crown Vic with spotlights, antennas, and police style steel rims.
I almost shat myself but as I passed him I realized that he wasn't paying any more attention to me than he I was to the speed limit, so I kept going and exited....
It scared the hell out of me though
Old plans out the window because of an accident .

no, imagine a police car license plate database tied in with some detection mechanism e.g. red light database with navigation software.
