It looks like the maximum ammount of ram that the laptop can take is 256MB of PC100 Ram. I would reccomend you check this out.

YOU GUYS CAN FEEL FREE TO REPLY ANYTIME NOW

it kind of sucks when 90% of the post on my thread are my own.

Well i'm looking for a front end, i'm testing them on my notebook first before I load it into Compaq.

AGAIN ANY HELPFUL COMMENT ARE WELCOMED

    Edit***

Well the after instaling Media Player unsuccefully i restarted my laptop only to get a error saying that i have the wrong system disk or something along does line. The thing is this thing has no disk drives and everytime i press a key the same message pops up it doesnt load windos or bios. I guess this laptop is scrap. This is going to set me back........

I had a similar problem to that, the no system disk problem. It was because the CD was the first boot device, and there was no CD in it. I changed it in the BIOS but you said you can't get in there so I'm not sure what to do.

What OS are you using? If it's the one in the blurry pic,it looks like 98.Do yourself a huge favor and get a copy of XP,you'll save yourself a world of trouble.
To get to the bios screen, there is a key you'll need to press before you see the "wrong system disk" message.....it's usually f1 or f2 or the esc key.
You've managed to somehow corrupt the boot sector on the hard drive is all,not a big deal. You can try to repair it with fdisk,or just wipe the partition and use xp.
