make that the primary drive on your desktop, and then install xp and put it back into your laptop after its done. I know that this solution is super ghetto, but I have had to do it before. Windows may freakout when it boots up and detects all the new stuff from your laptop like the motherboard and stuff like that but most of the time windows will just install the drivers needed and go on its way.

The 3rd option is put the drive in your desktop as the main drive, boot from the floppy or cd and at the comand prompt type

    fdisk /mbr
and type y (yes) for any confirmations.

tried it didnt work dont know why......

I'm taking a break from now this is getting to expensive and time consuming and stressful. I will jump back on it when I have the time. Right now everything I have bought Is still useful to me.
