I guess it would be good for to mention that I will be using an ECLIPSE 8454 Head unit, which has Coax Digital Inputs. I plan to use this because of the sound processing eclipse has which is excellent, so I won't need the sound card to do any type of equalization like those drivers do. Very impressive set of drivers though I must admit. I am mainly looking for just the best sound, with a digital out.
Also, I would need either USB or Network Card, as my laptop doesn't have PCI slots.
I0ve never been able to make AC97 and 6ch working together, as soon as I active AC97 linein I lose centre/sub line, so I have to go in kxpanel and reset ac97 setting with the specific buttonOriginally Posted by 0l33l
It seems to me that you can't use both linein and micin in the same time
last but not least, could you please post a screenshot of your DSP configuration? I'm trying to configure mine but it's kinda difficult without examples, I got it working but I get random audio lookup and other strange problems

100% installed and working :D
Since you want to use laptop, sorry to suggest SC not in your list, but ECHO AUDIO INDIGO is worth to try. Its PCMCIA and small.Originally Posted by stonep
In all honesty, if you're using an eclipse HU you're not going to have problems with any SC other than needing a digital out.
Get the sound to the HU and it'll do the rest. I'm also assuming you're not going to have 5.1 come out of that head unit so you don't need the 5.1 capabilities. Unless it separates it in the soundcard goes through the HU to a decoder and out to the speakers, your not going to get 5.1 output.
So look for a PCMCIA or Mini-PCI (if you've got the slot) or USB soundcard with digital out COAX.
If you're looking for a network card, fill your mini-pci slot with the Wireless card, pcmcia or USB for your sc although I'd stay away from USB soundcards if you've got other high bandwidth devices going on USB (like wireless)
Eclipse CD8455 owner here, I have it hooked up to an Audigy2 NX through digital out. Works great! Sound is Amazing.
