Only thing is, you'd have to use the remote, or hit buttons on the front of the dvd player to skip through the tracks, and that's kinda EH...I know innotek is a cheap brand, I had a desk phone made by them once, and it was crap - bought it at some flea market. Has anyone ever had one of those cheap lcds off of ebay?

I have this headunit, which plays mp3s - but on a cd you can only fit like 150. On a 1gb thumb drive, you can fit like around 200 - but that's the max size you can plug into the usb port, suuposedly -by the way, this head unit only costs $99 bucks at best buy, AND it has aux mode, with rear audio INPUTS for hooking up dvd players/playstation, whatever. If I found an in-dash dvd player, I could fill up the other half of my toyota double din space, get rid of the dumb pocket I never use, and then just control the tracks from that in-dash dvd player. All you need is something to read the disc, becuase the headunit is what controls the sound quality, and I'm happy with how it sounds.
This second option would be a little more expensive, I think - even more so if I got a dvd player that included a flip up screen and tv tuner. Or, I could always externally mount a tv, but you don't really need that. Sure, itd be cool...BUT
Does anyone know any dvd players that play visualizations when you put a disc in with mp3 files burned on it????
I have a JVC, and it plays the tracks, lists about 10 at a time on the screen. I got a 50 dollar sanyo at walmart, and the menus are a little nice -PLUS it scrolls the filename of the current song that is playing across the screen. What DVD player can you buy that's relatively cheap, that does this AND possibly has visualizations!? Or, even just a dvd player that scrolls the mp3 name across the display on the front of it, as it is playing? hmm...
There are so many options, all under 150 bucks, basically...since I already have my head unit. I don't want to build a computer for my car, so that's out of the question. No trunk space, anyways - I've got 3 tens and an amp back there already...

Screw it, I'm returning this low quality piece-o-crap headunit, and gettin my 100 bucks back - I don't need all of this crap.
All you really need is a quality cd player. Mp3, video, sure they're nice - but do you really nEED it? Nah, I could live without it - and put the money towards a house- something I REAlly NEED.
Thanks a lot for all of your help, guys.

Ya, you're right. I'm thinking of going with an In-Dash jvc dvd/cd deck now, since I can fit almost 5 gigs of freakin mp3s on a dvd (over 8 on a dual layer disc, if I can find some online or something, since they dont usually sell them in the stores much) and then maybe pair that with a flip out lcd screen - maybe even something in my globve compartment...only thing about that, is opening and closing of the glovebox will get stupid after a while. It does hide your investment, though.
I can alphabetize my entire mp3 collection, and fit it all on 3 or 4 dvd disks...then new stuff I download and want to lister to, I'll just burn onto quick mp3 data cds, until I have enough to fit on another dvd archive. Sweet deal, huh? Easy as pie, and no boot-up, no computer needed.

This is called, mp3 car.com isnt it? Hmm...I guess there ARE prebuilt devices that one can purchase to play mp3s, other than building little pc's that cost me the same in parts and time than what I can get in a headunit.
I'm not bashing carputers- if I had more time to mess around, I would do one up - but that will be when I purchase a newer vehicle in the near future.
Don't hate.
