it defaults to uncompressed so it must be set each time the program starts and cause i can't set any values it must be done manually

That would have to be a low on the list for now but it's pretty simple i got code to select what cam u have then view it.

Thats not a bad thing to do you could have it so when you get neer your own home network it syncs up and checks for new music or it downloads a 7 day wether report for the carpc.

Ok it's a stretch and not a huge priority LOL

5 is useful for many reasons. If we all use the same benchmark(s) we can figure out what components best fit budget/performance/stability/power consumption/expandibility.

Being a gamer, we have used this method for years. It is also a fun competition and braging rights who has the fastest frame rates, boot up etc in the computer classes eg. ITX class, P4 class, AMD class etc.

Noobs would have a large database to point to and see what they need as well.

well right now the FEs are set up always on top. say i want to connect to the internet, and i'm wardriving or something you know-wifi w/2 mile radius antenna

i should hit a button in the front end, which launches the windows wifi config program, but in your own, skinned cooler looking setup... and i was figuring, why not just do ALL potential connections (dial up if available, lan wired, etc etc)

there if ur driving say and u get 5 hotspots u can select which one to connect to and/or it would show you connection info (5 bars, speed, locked/unlocked, etc)

I understand now but i'v got mine set to auto connect so i don't really think about this.

The whole idea of the thread is for devs to see what other people want and i myself have very little time to do anything myself tv and afew other things are the main ones on my list.

If i do get code for something like this i will release it for someone else to take up

I think it would be better for you to create a survey on the website and connect it to a mysql database or something then tally the results yourself

I got a couple, not too big

An attenuation control for FP like how kenwood headunits have. Instead of holding the volume button down, you can push the attn. button and music will turn down like half way and when you push it again the music will climb up to volume you was at.

(I'm using a dual monitor setup w/FP) A detachable visualzation box so I can move it to the other monitor so only video will display in it and my controls will be on my monitor. Plus with that, you could have rear view camera, GPS, or IE as well display in it too. Or could a skin be developed for that?

Maybe a popup that comes up to show that you're connected to a WiFi location. I have my front end as a shell and no longer get the windows popups that notifies you of things like this.

well just because you have it doesnt mean everyone else does. i feel as though it is a good suggestion in the cases where fe's are shell and u cant see that stuff anymore... plus if its really a FE then it will incorporate all the **** u would do when u are using it for carpc
