Ok so this morning on my way to work i was thinking what would it take
to have a fleet of vehicles lets say 50 all with carpcs gps and we want to track their position in real time. let say they run along a specified route every time. now would we want to have every vehicle to have transmitt the info back thru the internet via phone? or i was thinking a having wireless access points set up along the route. ok now how would me make a complete system work. would we set up a network of say 51 computers each with an id tag and just make a wireless network or go thru internet.

ok now if we did do this what type of gps would we use? is their like an industrial grade or just the normal usb ones work?

anyone want to add any ideas?
