    Copy them across a network.

yeah i did that when i couldnt get my damn usb 2.0 drivers working. lol without 2,0 in usb it would take like 2 days for the 20 gigs lol. so i used the adapter ide and comp recognized it right away and i transferred them all over in 20 minutes.

Host them? You don't need to host them anywhere.
They reside on your home PC.
Share the location(s) where you store your MP3s.
Connect to that share from teh PC in the car.
Copy the MP3s you want from the share on the home PC to the car PC.

Just plug in a wireless USB adapter to your carpc whenever you want to connect to your home wireless network. If your range is good enough, you should be able to browse your network from your driveway/garage and copy any files you want (mp3's movies, etc.) You should also be able to share your broadband internet and download directly from the web.

I've done it three ways in the past:

    1. Wireless connection, copy across. It's slower than wired but works fine.
    2. On my LAN by plugging the car pc into the router. Much faster, works fine.
    3. Connect disk drive to home PC, copy. Fastest, also works fine.
