almost done but one big problem

ok so i got everything put in my car but im still getting a terrible whine.
    so heres my setup

i have a desktop pc in my trunk, with an AC power supply. it gets power from a 400w inverter. i have the inverter hardwired to my battery. its grounded at the same point my amp is. with about a 1 foot ground wire.
my stereo was put in a long time ago and it works fine
    its an 600w amp, 1 sub, 6 speakers, a 220w headunit.
the computer has a PCI soundcard with phono out that runs about 10 feet to the head unit, then has an rca adapter on the headunits auxilary input to accept stereo.

with my car in accessory, just power, no engine. every thing works fine. there is a slight low pitch hum with the music paused but its not a problem for me.
then i turn my car on an the whine begins. its pretty noticable, and i cant figure out the problem.

ive heard i should ground my case, or motherboard? how do i do that, ive done searches for a long time and found no real help? any tutorials or detailed instructions on how to do it would really be useful.
    any help its appreciated.
    thanks

That slight hum you hear is probley interference. Everyone says its ether a ground loop or a audio cable is near a power wire. I tested the power wire near audio line and it gives alot of hum. My carcomputer and amp used to give a light hum and a louder hum when the car was running with no audio playin. And I checked and rerouted the audio lines and it fixed the problem completly. I heard its due to the reduced voltage during the car being off (ie less hum) then when you start and rev your engine your alt give off some interference and the voltage also increases causeing more hum. I would suggest trying the system with the audio lines not run or hidden under the floor but being held up and see if that fixes ur problem.
