    Downloaded music videos

I have started to download old mpg's etc of old songs for my mp3 collection, now I have screens, mp3's dont cut it anymore I want mpg with full video to show my system off!

But, whenever I get them from p2p sources, and some times they take days to download 1 30mb file, it plays with odd squeeks / pops / jump in video now and again.

I think its bad mpeg frame issue, any ideas how to fix it? (them)

Obviously these aren't subject to copyright or you have the copyright holder's permission, because you are discussing this on a public forum.

Some p2p software is better than others.
Kazzaa doesn't seem to resume downloads very well, often leading to a few bytes corruption.
Try emule or bit torrent clients, these will provide you with a faithful file copy.
If the original at the other end(s) has bad frames, you'll get them too.
Try divxdigest or doom9 for more info in restoring or hiding bad frames.

Oh I have an extensive collection of music, ex dj, loads of vinyl, but I cant play em in me car yor honour.

As far as I see it, if I have bought it then I have paid to hear it, thats that, the format is not an issue for me, and I leave that to the people paid more than me to argue over and they will no doubt spend more time and more money argueing over it than the $1 worth etc of revenue its worth.

If its a music video for something(tape/vinyl) I dont own etc, then I have deprieved<sp> the copyright owner etc and thats naughty.

I am not here to encourage piracy, its doing fine on its own.

I'd give bearshare a try... although I'm running into the same problem as you. You can definatly get the more popular music videos but older stuff forget about it...

In fact, you're on to an excellant idea for a new service.

Just make sure you run a spyware app after you install BearShare. I use it too, but it installs a few nasty little suprises while it installs itself. But they aren't required to make the software run. So you just have take em out.

    @ lez

    hear, hear.
We all know most of the arguments, but when in the public eye sometimes they have to be spelled out to avoid confusion

You could rip em from Yahoo! Music or similar or just buy em from iTunes.
