My carputer decides on its own when to post and when not to post. It happens just about every other start - But I have learned to live with it for now....

Kind of weird answering this question because sometimes when things happen I feel that it only happens to me. I do only have crazy things happen when there is an update or test software being used. I do also get the random boots but I think that has allot to do with windows and computers in general. But you know what guys, I couldn't live without it. I have GPS, digital music, digital video, and the bragging rights that I did it myself all to boot. Don't you just love this site!

3 times per month... I probably have serious issues every few months, where I have to take out the computer to work on over night or to do hardware adjustments. Every week or so I may get a freeze up, but with a flip of a switch, my computer restarts and is running fine again.

Once in blue moon my GPS mouse isn't recognized. Fixes itself with a reboot. And once I thought my OS had crapped out, but it was just twerkin' because I improperly removed my removeable HDD... so I put "couple times a year", but I'd almost lean toward "never", because all and all it's incredibly stable. I guess that's what you get when all you've got loaded on your comp is Routis, media players, and a couple emulators.

A micr0$oft based CarPC will break down at least as often as any other MS PC... But probably more due to the homebrew nature of the software we use, plus we are using hardware in a car that was designed to be fitted in an industrial machine or an office.

I can get a simple setup that runs perfect, but trying to make everything like BT/Phoco, WiFi, CDRIP, all work reliably and as they should is what takes the time, and causes crashes/lockups...

Basically no issues here. It overheated after like 4 continuous hours on the road and once or twice since, but that only started because I am too lazy to fix the exhaust fan in the case. System is under rear seat of Jeep so it does get toasty. ME has made a superb frontend, too.

Considering how many times I am RMAing junk from my main PC, I am extremely surprised, especially with the M1-ATX.

One or twice a week especially when my car is not in the garage and the weather is cold (below 0 celcius, (snow temp)) the coputer fails to start it simply not starting up the computer and you can hear the bios beeping (long-long-long-long-long...). I guess it's not finding the memory since removing the mem it behaves the same. Or it may be something with the opus start signals... I'm not sure.... Anyone with some ideas?

dj__a don't know what is causing the bios error.. But it sounds like the RAM don't like the cold weather

Only time I actually have problems is when is below 0C.. And it is at the momet. Is freagging annoying ! 2-4 months with those temperatures is just to damn much! Is because of the harddisk. I've though about changing it to a 2.5" ! But I don't know if I will do so!

If anyone have any fixes for my boot troubles with the HD in these cold temperatures I will be glad to hear from you !

this is like a trick question because it depends on what stage of your install your on.... when I first installed the new system & had just basic software & internet it was rock solid reliable..... then start playing around & adding hardrives, front ends & basically playing with it the problems develop.... THEN, the bugs all worked out she's fine again.... then start screwing with new stuff adding & back to ironing out kinks again.... so it depends really.....

for the most part I'd say hardware 95% perfect, software 80%......, but if I did nothing else to it, it can stay the way it is & be fully functional & reliable, so how do you answer a question like this? I don't know so I didn't vote, but if I did I would probably average it out to every few months, but there can be weeks that I will have multiple issues in one week so ??????

my next addition will be adding rear screen support & control, so if I vote in a few weeks my answer may be different......
