How to take out steering whell controls?

I'm being serching for a little big for how to take the controls on the steering wheel in a Xterra (or any 2000 and up nissan), I want to use steveG SWC soft along with a gamepad to control FP.

I know that GodOfCPU made another APP and he also listed a way to make this MOD without craking your steering wheel but the down side is that I don't have a jostick port on my MOBO(or want to buy more stuff like jostick to usb adapter)

If someone have any idea of how to do this please let me know.

theres info about this in the faq emporium. If you have an infrared reciever, you can convert the signal fromt he harness to IR, and then have girder process that. I've done the soldering route with the USB controller....however To actually mount it in my steering wheel I need this crazy large torques tip.....so once I find that, maybe i'll get around to it.

What problems are you having specifically?

I want the hardwire one (no IR or gider).

The prob is that after braking my stock HU and getting a replacement from ebay I want to be very careful with the stock parts of the car, so I want to know like where are the screw for the airbag (if I have to remove it or not) and where to pull, push, what kind of tools I need (cus I got some www where the people use special tools) that sorf of info.

My suggestion is look for nissan's supplier websites, or nissan's parts websites.....and find directions on removing the steering wheel. I found my directions on handa-accesories.com they sell a wooden steering wheel replacement, and give you all the directions you need.

Well I saw that link in GodOfCpu thread....... but did I mention I tired of paying for everything knowing that there are people out there that maybe can help me for free?

I don't want nobody to do a search for me, (no a n00b here partner

)I want people that had work/own a nissan with steering wheel controls to give me a clue of what to do.

Your welcome. Ya, this place IS free, and MAYBE someone will provide you with the information you need. However, I thought I was cheap

, but it is just 20 bucks, and then you can download the whole manual, and then YOU can help other people who want to be cheap as well.

In the scheme of things, since you have searched long and hard, 20 bucks is nothing.
