Is the HDD a full-sized 3.5" drive or a laptop 2.5" drive?
If it's a full-sized drive, it may be drawing too much 12v for the M1ATX.
Hey everyone. Long time reader first time poster. I finally took the plunge and bought all my parts and started assembling. Here's a list of my hardware.
Via Epia MII1200 mobo
40gb Samsung HD
1 GB of pc2100 RAM (brand Omni)
m1-ATX PSU
Ampie Case
Win XP
I started out with building everything on my desk with a extra 250w PSU unit I had lying around from an old computer. Everything went awesome. OS install went without a hitch, drivers, software, no problem. So, all is well and I package everything up in the Ampie case. All connections are good. Take it to my car and connect all the proper wires and turn the car on. First problem, I get a non system boot disk error. My initial thought is the HD cable came loose or I didn't put it in well enough. So I leave it in the car over night and take the case from the car back up to my desk and open it up the next morning. Everything is connected. I pull off the m1-atx PSU and plug in my desktop PSU, hit the power button and I get nothin. Checked the PSU, its fine. Checked the switch, it's fine. I have everything disconnected from the motherboard except the PSU and the RAM. When I hit the power button I get absolutely nothing, the fans wont even start. What the heck is going on????? I left the computer disconnected from the power in my car during the night and the only thing that I can see that might have affected it last night was the temp was around 25 F. Not terrible but the only thing I can see that might affect it. Got any ideas people? I'm lost.
I don't thinks so cus I can run one 3.5" HD out my PW200 without problems (and knowing what you all think about it vs the M1 ATX)
Thanatos.
It's a 2.5" drive so I don't think that's it. Besides I disconnected everything from the board except the psu and the ram so nothing is drawing power. And also it's hooked up to an external 240w psu that's you'd normally use in a desktop.
My M12K just up and died on me.. on further inspection I noticed a Diode had come loose on the bottom of the motherboard...
im still wondering whether or not i should attempt to fix it myself.. or try and get a warranty fix for it.. after all it was mounted in a case and its not like i threw it around the garage or anything
Pentium 4m 1.5GHz|MB896|Roadie Extreme|XM-Direct|Rikaline 6010|T-View 7"|Streetdeck|160gb Western Digital|1Gb DDR2-533 Ram
I'd say get a new one who knows what else is wrong with it, I'm thinking that's what I'm going to do. How many other people have had there mII12000 die?
