This has nothing with any stupid drugs
There's not a day without some commercials about cro$fot...this is what i call hammering, washing people's brain.
You should be aware about unique user number assigned by the o.s. to your computer, spywares is nothing mysterious, "how to tell" is also a reality, you can use only approved hardware...poor captive consumer and poor industrials which must forcibly agree to be able to enter in the club and make money.
Also remember of the unique ID number associated with the cpu which first was a "feature" that could not be disabled...look at the innocent thing that you download when upgrading your windows...a bit of code which should identify if your install is genuine or not but who knows what this thing realy does ? The best is coming with the future vista and a lot of surprises in it.
    Good apetite

    windosw is just easy

    easy to install
    easy to use
    lots of support
dont thave to deal with the command line - remember DOS

    Linux is not

Linux is more stable - but are you realy running it 24/7 in a car,
windows from a cold boot runs stable for days,

Yes you have to learn command line stuff - And it makes me wish
it was as easy as DOS was

As far as a windows install just killing its self - no it wont,
but if your on the net and un-protected it can be killed
but you can run some free programs to protect you
    - and even then most car computers are not on the net

I have windows repair DVDs that can repair even a formated drive
    - because I cloned the drive to a DVD after I set it up the way
I wanted, and can just copy it over to the harddrive - never had
to use it - but it does work - I installed linux, played with it,
reformated the drive to NTFS and copied the DVD over, and booted
    windows

    Linux is free -

And most car-computers are using an illegal copy of windows -
you are unless you paid for each copy you use, I cant say
that I have - but I do own multiple copies of windows
but that dont make it any less illegal

and some did not even pay for the first copy

so thats one thing in favor of linux -

And Microsoft does collect a lot of info on its users - I hack my windows
just because of that - BTW that is illegal to, You have to use it the way
    they tell you to

so thats two things in favor of linux -

DRM - With windows Vista - I wont be using it

so thats 3 things in favor of linux -

But - untill I learn linux better - or it gets easy
    I will be using XP

    A little off topic

Only some types of weed make you paranoid
    - And the amount of THC and how long the weed
has set before its smoked, has a play in how you feel
THC breaks down into different types that afect the brain
    in different ways

    Heat also breaks down THC

Some makes you sleepy, some gives you a warm bath feel,
some makes you happy and you laugh a lot, ect ect

This has just turned into a full on slander match. Cmon, lighten up.

Evidently, a lot of people. "MS 2004 Net Income (US$) $8.17B"
(i do note that that figure is not only for windows. )

Now, I'm not advocating windows and banishing Linux.
I like linux. I use linux.
But its still a baby, especially when compared to the blood-breathed dragon of windose. And this comparison will never end - it might calm down, when development and use of linux becomes more mainstream, but will never end - look at the PC/MAC debate... that has calmed down partly because people realise each has its uses, but mainly because they've found something else to debate.

    Just take a deep breath.

When you say welcome to capitalism, i find that this has nothing to do with linux, windows, or capitalism, i simply described how the power of the tv is used on weak consumers that can't make difference between a hamburger and an o.s. btw do they even noticed the same background music is used to make people asleep or less reactive ?
An o.s. is something else than a thing with uncertain composition you'll eat and forget as you pull the drain...but are consumers stupid or retarded, again i don't find they are to be blamed, it seems that marketing power erases all, even memory and ability to chose.

So yes i cool down, this debate interests me no more, apart wasting time, it provides nothing else and turns always in the same way...the one drawed by somebody else who thinks instead of people.

I am just gonna run both of them. Linux on my itx, and windows on a busted screened laptop. I like linux better, but it isnt as functional sometimes.

But then again, I can set up linux in an hour, without looking for any drivers on any computer I have tried it on, where windows it takes about that long just to install windows.

After I got past playing video games all day, linux has worked alot better for me. most of the drivers that havent been supported, will have one that will work. I also find linux drivers as easily as windows ones with a quick google search.

    And linux is free.
Progress,.... that is what I keep forgetting ;)
