Or just find an old AT psu (one with a beefy 12v rail) and wire it so your DC-DC thinks there's battery.
Now Galileo is real. Muhahahahaha :p

    Shore Power

First, anyone used to a diesel vehicle knows a shore power connection is common and very easy to install. In these vehicles, the hot, neutral are connected to a heating coil in the cooling jacket while the ground is connected to the vehicle frame. It would be possible to use the power feed spliced for other equipment. In my case, Ford let the plug dangle behind the grill. After a few years, I installed a Marinco plug in the plastic skirt below the bumper. It is difficult to see since the plug is black as well.

To power the pc, just install a small 12v converter connected via a relay to the 12v computer power supply. This relay could also trigger the computer to come on and stay on until power is interupted. IE: you are bypassing the vehicle's 12v power supply with the 12v converter.
