Help...I hooked up my Ipod to my Pioneer head unit but no subwoofer!

Hi everybody.OK I bought the Schose ipod cable that has 2 rca outputs that says you can use it for you home stereo or car stereo on it. I hooked them into the back of my Pioneer deh-p6400 unit with the 2 red and white jacks that say front aux out,I guess they are preamp outputs .I cant get the music to come out but the subs arent working and the music sounds pretty bad.I can even listen to the radio and the ipod at the same time. The base from the rado will play but not the ipod. What am I doing wrong? Thanks for any help! The cable I bought was 4.99 and looks like this one http://www.walmart.com/catalog/produ...uct_id=3579191 except it is Schose brand.I dont know if this works because I havent seen anybody using this cable anywhere on here.

Your post isn't clear. You have your iPod hooked up to the PreAmp out?

sorry.....It looks like a preamp out..but it says front aux out. It is coming from 2 wires from the back of the unit....I have my sub rca's plugged into a red and black that are right below them....in all I have the regular rca pair[subs are in],an rca pair coming from a wire[ipod cable is in], and a little white plug that looks like a bus connector[nothing is in]..

Exactly what kind of head unit you have?

And it's supposed to be aux IN, not aux out...
Aux out, probably are preamp outputs, that output signal to amplifiers...not the other way around...

I might be wrong, but don't you need a Auxiliary Input device (CD-RB10 or CD-RB20) for an input source to work on that unit.

And plugging an iPod into a AUX-out or preOUT, won't work. You need an Aux-IN.

I am correct. You are feeding your iPod via an OUT, which is why the you can hear the iPod and the radio at the same time. You need a CD-RB10 or CD-RB20, or you can make one your self (search IP-Bus).

I'd say it would be best to take the car somewhere and have a proffesional install it...
