FedEx is just as bad. The only bad pakages I have received were from them. FedEx ground is particularly bad b/c they treat their employees really bad. FedEx air is ok though, but avoid ground like the plague. I have had issues with DHL as well, but not so consistently.

Everyone who receives a lot of packages has a horror story about one package courier or another. None of them are prefect. We offer shipping options from UPS and the United States Postal Service and let the customer decide which they would rather use, if they have a preference.

The MP3car.com service seems good so far from the limited contact I have had with them, but UPS service to Canada stinks. Do you guys have some sort of contract with UPS as a shipping partner or is it possible to offer USPS delivery to Canada?

    Thanks
Watch out for UPS standard "brokerage fees" to Canada. If the value of the items are more then $100 or so it might be cheaper for you to ship UPS Worldwide Express or Worldwide Expedited. Often you will get your package overnight and the price of shipping already includes the brokerage fees so you get your goods faster and cheaper.

Yeah, I recommend USPS anytime. Same price anyway, or close.

I know they waive the brokerage fees with expedited shipping, but then my shipping rates go through the roof and I usually don't need stuff in 2 days

In Canada my preference for shipping is Purolator, I don't know if you guys can ship with them in the states, but rarely have I had damaged packages from them, and I was receiving several boxes per day.

you are exactly right, but I can say for a fact that UPS (United Parcel Smashers) is by far the worst. I receive about 35-40 packages a week, and of that 20 or so come UPS, 12-15 Priority Mail, and 0-5 FedEx. Honestly, in the last 4 years I can count on 1 hand the number of inbound packages that were damaged to the point that the boxes were torn open, or had items damaged. All were from UPS. Of the 4 smashed boxes that I recall, 2 of them were improperly packed, and the other 2 looked like they mader a stop in Beruit prior to coming to Detroit.
I have never had a bad package from Fedex or USPS, (Thank God, knock wood, yada yada) but damn UPS.

Its totally a numbers game inside any shipper. For example, I work in a ups hub and on average we run about 450,000 packages per day. My cousin works at the local FedEx shop and they do about 120,000 per day. (sorry no DHL numbers) You don't usually see people smashing stuff on purpose in there. Usually what happens is your soon to be smashed package is coming down the line in front of a much larger, heavier package. It comes to a turn on a belt or a downhill slope and physics takes over.

Its kind of like how New York's crime rate is much higher, even though your individual chances of being involved in one is lower because there are just so many more people.

I dunno, I'd never smash your guys' boxes.
