I have the avic n1 and I would like to add the rear camera(which won't be hard) but I'm really trying to add an infrared front viewing camera for night vision. I'm just beginning to buy parts. I'm installing the cameras in my 1998 dodge 4x4, should't be hard, I just need ideas on the best cameras to use, infrared and rear viewing.
Also, how would I display the forward looking cameral while driving. I am already able to watch video while driving, but how do I hook up a forward camera and display.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
If you want to display the forward camera through the N1, you would need to connect it to one of the AV inputs (obviously not the rear camera input)
That's...basically it. If you're still running the software that will allow you to view video inputs while driving, and you already have that enabled, you're basically all set.
Don't know what infrared cameras you can use, there's a thread that some people are working on currently.

I figured it wouldn't be too difficult, I never upgraded the n1 luckily, and yeah it works while driving, luckily again. And to think I almost bought that stupid ugrade. I checked this website before I did though and its a good thing...
