Few specific acura/bose CARPC Questions for all you pros

I'm putting a carpc in my 2005 Acura RSX. My questions are:

1.) How exactly does the sound system connect to the carpc? I'm planning on using the stock Bose system which is 6 speakers, a sub and a bose amp. I've figured out that you need to put RCA connectors on the end of the 6 speaker wires up in the dash, then run RCA 6 cables to the back where the amp is. But I'm not sure how it will hook up to the amp, and then how it will come out of the amp to the PC?

2.) Is there a way to hard-wire my Lilliput 7" and 4-port USB hub to the CARPC power supply so I don't have to use a power inverter?

3.) Also my Via Epia M13000 has onboard 5.1 channel analog sound, and SPDIF. Would it be better to use the SPDIF output, and how would it be different from the analog setup?

These may seem like noob questions, I'm putting my flame suit on as we speak.

Uh Uh Uh, You didn't say the magic word !

1.) easiest way without splicing into existing wiring would probably be to interface into a factory cd-changer/aux input. not sure if the RSX had that option.

2.) splice into your psu's molex +12v lead

3.) unless you have an aftermarket HU with SPDIF input, it's not cost-effective to use SPDIF. just connect the line-out to the HU's aux/cd-changer input.

Hey, '03 TL Owner here, check out the site http://www.blitzsafe.com they make the piece you want. There is a downloadable PDF chart listing all compatible makes and models and shows the appropriate interface adapter. As the previous poster mentioned, the Blitzsafe adapter interfaces with your car's CD-CHANGER input, so (for me) by pressing the CD input button a SECOND time tricks my car into thinking its controlling an external cd changer, when in reality, it is simply passing the audio output from my PC to the bose speakers in the cabin. Pressing the CD input button toggles between my in-dash 6 and my PC, so no functionality is lost

the problem with the RSX is that if you were to install a carputer into the car, you would have to take out the indash cd changer because it is where you would install the touchscreen. i believe the only way is to find an adapter that converts the RCAs into speaker level outputs. like a line out convertor, but reverse. i'm not sure if you can use a regular line out convertor and just reverse the inputs with the outputs. i found this product on crutchfield, i'm not sure if it'll work

are you trying to run the stock HU wit the carputer? if not go get a metra kit that will plug into your bose amp under the passenger seat that will convert it into rca's, then plug those rca's into the sound card of your computer. easy as that. i have an rsx too and currently working on carputer. let me know how you do.

look it up, type in metra rsx in yahoo. i believe the part number is 70-1725. come on. search! =) on one end is the same plug that the stock system uses to plug into the bose amp under the seat, and on the other end are rca plugs to plug into an aftermarket HU or sound card on the computer. Its fairly simple. Just plug it in, and you got sound to your sub and speakers.

alright i found a lot of places that sell the metra kit, but none of them have pictures of it. do you know how weak the speakers will be if i get the dash kit and wire it up to my carputer?

it wont be weak if you have a good sound card that puts out more than 2v RMS. Creative's XiFi could do it. I plan on using audigy which isnt as great. The bose system in our cars is meant to boost weak signals. Its gonta sound just like stock but a little better. There are A LOT of places that have pictures. You gotta find it. I found it looking in Yahoo within 5minutes. Iono if you're trying hard enough. It's not called a dash kit either. its a wiring harness that hooks up your amp to an aftermarket deck or a computer.

btw, search using the part number. Oh and another thing is, u understand right? the bose amp under the seat is already hooked up to all speakers and the sub. all you have to do is feed it the signal coming from the carputer to the amp after disconnecting the wires from the stock HU. the metra wiring harness allows you to connect to the bose amp. find the picture, and you'll get it. late
