You don't power a HD using a montherboard
Yes, it would take more power than a laptop HD.
How would I power a Desktop Hard drive using a via MII10000 motherboard? Would it take alot more power?
oh yea i mean with the power supply, With the M1-atx, would i need something stronger? would the M1-atx come with the right connectors to fit in the desktop HD or do i need to fabricate or buy some new ones?
nvm i udnerstand it now thanks
Be aware that a 3.5" desktop HDD draws power from the 12v rail as well as the 5v rail. That may present a power issue using the M1ATX.
A 2.5" laptop HDD only draws power from the 5v rail.
Something to keep in mind.
thanks yea i just ordered a 2.5" to stay on the safe side
