    Costs associated with importing

I'm just wondering of any other associated costs that i should prepare for, if I'm going to order componets overseas. I'm looking at a character LCD, as it seems cheaper to get one from the US than to buy one in australia.

Are there any other costs, apart from the product cost and shipping?

Seriously, i cannot find a 40x4 backlit character display for less than $100 here. should cost me $80au to get one from timeline shipped. But i think i'll give up and just save for the 5" nesa from autobarn. I just hope they are still on special when i can afford it.

about that pic, im not in a rush, when ever is convient suits me.
    Thanks

I just remembered I have two more 40*2 LCDS (the same I used in my setup) I purcahsed 3 of em at the time, but now I dont really need them (going TFT soonish!).... I will sell them for $15ea if you like.? Could send em with the IRman PIC chip if you like (im getting that done this weekend along with about 7 PSX mod chips I need!)

if your keen for TFT, try out this thread I just posted....

Ok, that sounds great. I was really after a 40x4 but i will settle for 40x2. My current plan (its always changing) is to have a TFT (5" nesa from autobarn) and a character display. So if I'm just going for a short drive i dont need to worry about the TFT and having it stolen, but can still use the character display to see what's playing and navigate my songs

Contact me when you have the chips and we can organise somthing.
