I am no senior citizen but I find that paint job strangely appealing.
Okay maybe not on the whole car but perhaps on small areas.

    Sign of premature aging?

All this talk of modding in an inverter... such waste of energy. Why not get one of these?

    1. Take 4 strips of metal 2 of one length and 2 of another.
    2. A tube of caulking
    3. 2 pieces of plexiglass to fit into the frame made of metal.
    4. some pvc piping (2 pieces or so and a 90 degree junction)
    5. a drill
    6. a small dc water pump.
    7. some bamboo halves or artificial rock face from like an aquarium
    8. some water.
    9. Some Zip ties

Use the metal strips and create a frame, sealing all joints with the caulk. Install one piece of plexiglasson one side of the frame sealing around all the edges. Using the drill, drill some holes into the bottom of the pipe that will fit along the inside top of the frame about every 1-2 inches, connect the 90 degree elbow and the other pipe running down one side. Attach the undrilled pipe to the water pump out. Place and secure the pipes within the structure, use the bamboo halves to hide the pipe going down to the pump and also to give an effect to run the water over. make sure everything is secure. add sufficient water. install the other piece of plexi glass and ensure all joints are sealed. Install in place of your backseat. One portable comforting waterfall.

To get really creative you can add some lights to the top and have colored water. Enjoy

Edit: of course if you want a more automobile looking fountain you could use old brake rotors, flywheels, etc.
