The flipside to that is when someone who's a genuine newbie uses the search tool looing for information about something, they get multiple threads, most of which contain nothing but inane information (like "search, noob!"). It frustrates the new people. Moreover, having more than one post on a topic meant to be a "fun" discussion item is not a bad thing. You guys really need to lighten up on this holier-than-thou "use the search attitude" on this forum. Its really lame. Beyond lame...its harmful to this forum too. The more threads indexed in google the more traffic this forum will receive. People should be encouraged to post. It helps grow the forum and thus helps you, too, because it means more people and more content to read.
The general rule on ANY forums is to look before you post, plain and simple.
I liken this place to a library. If you walk into a library, stand on a table and ask a question about some particular topic to everyone present, you're going to get pointed to the card catalog or electronic database and told to find the information yourself.
This place is no different.
