Hondas are extremely reliable cars. My Civic has 271,000 miles on it right now... never had any major problems as long as I've owned it (3rd owner). 10,500 is a pretty good price for that car. I'd get the warranty just for piece of mind.

Rule of thumb, never buy an extended warranty.

Depending on what the warranty covers, I'd probably get it. For that price, it's nice to know anything that goes wrong is fixed. Stupid **** can happen, even to hondas. Suspension stuff, alternators, transmission problems.

Tough decision. I opted not to take the warranty on a 92 mr2 I bought with 52,000 miles, 1 owner car. 4 days later the transmission blew, and cost 2200 dollars to fix.

Such warranties usually never cover stuff that breaks. My mom effin paid $2000 for her chrysler extended warranty, the car is constantly at the shop and we could NEVER, I repeat NEVER EVER EVER actually use that warranty. Put the money in the bank and pay eventual repairs with the interest, or even get a nice vacation, the money is better spent there than in any extended warranties.

I voted no-warrenty since that's what I'd do, but really it depends on how comfortable with risk you are. I think that the chances are very likely that that $1400 will more than cover any repairs (if any) you have to do in the next 3 years (by how much is basically the dealer's profit margin on the deal, and these warrenties are cash cows). But you can always get unlucky. If you'll sleep better at night, get the warrenty.

After I bought my car I got a mail from a company that wanted to offer me an extended warranty for $180. There are lots of companies on the internet that offer very cheap extended warranties. Anybody know anything about that?
