I turned off my monitor so that they wouldn't know it was running. I also have a manual power switch in parallel with the OPUS going to the headers on the Mobo, and I think that next time I'm going to unhook that switch so that they can't turn it off even if they try

Normally I shut it down for short check up like oil change and such.
But if I have to leave it overnight, I'll spend 30 minutes to take the PC and the screen out.
Time to make Access Control to work again. It's time to log what the f they do to the car. Dealer service is one minor thing. Valet parking is the worst.

I always unplug my carPC when I take it to the dealer. It would be too tempting for me not to play with something like that, let alone them.

    But NICE catch!!

I must say that the look on the SM's face when I told him that my car tracks and logs everywhere it goes was priceless.

Excellent story. Just be glad that they didn't tell you you voided your warranty (if you have one) by putting a CarPC in your car. Many dealers are real bastards about stuff like that.

I'm definately checking out FD now!

By law your warrenty can not be voided. What can happen is that you can void certain parts of a warrenty due to modifications, but they MUST be able to prove that your modification caused the failure to happen. If a dealership tells you that your warrenty is voided, find a different dealer, or get a lawyer.

Like me, I have a number of suspension, brake, and electrical mods in the car, but nothing powertrain (yet). So for the time being, my whole drivetrain is 100% still covered.

If only you had a hidden web cam that caught him sipping on that beer at 106.

I believe it's called the Magmusen-Moss Act or something like that. My extended warranty just ended. That's why I just dropped $2500 on a full race exhaust system and badass clutch! Maybe I ought to set something like that. I would kill if some *** was doing 150 in my car.
