    Just ordered....

A Holux GM-200 GPS Receiver from www.thegpsstore.com I paid $99.00 + shipping ($8.00) USD. I hope it is worth it. I got the USB version , praying Win95 OSR2 plays well with it!

I don't know anyone else who owns this GPS so I guess I'll be the first to review it. But I need GPS software now Any suggestions? Copilot? Street Atlas??

Here's a PDF specs sheet I found on it, so those who have knowlegde of GPS can compare:

Might wanna check this out too, if you're interested:

I have M$ streets and trips and M$ mappoint. They are both ok. Mappoint retails for over $200, but I got it free at the office 2k premeire a while back. I would reccommend both of them though. Nothing that I dislike about either, that I have not found a fix for.

Angry Holux GPS not working with CoPilot

I just bought a Holux-200 USB, and I have been trying to run it on my laptop with CoPilot 2002 without success.

The documentation and support from Holux is very bad. Has anyone had any luck with this GPS?

I got the RandMcNally USB GPS NMEA compliant reciever.
The software and GPS is very easy to use and connect.
    I paid $150.00 shipped.

The MS Trips that came with my laptop doesn't work with it. I heard the MS Trips only works with serial GPS receivers.

I was able to get the Holux to work with MS Streets and Trips for about 1 minute. Damn I'm ****ed off.

The Holux has its own proprietary GPS controls, as well as (supposedly) NMEA 0183 v2.2. I can get it to track sattelites using its "SiRF Binary" Protocol, but as soon as I switch it to NMEA standard it shuts down.

I've read all of their manuals (written in Mandarin English). Good luck trying to figure it out. They have the balls to sell the GPS with 1/2 way finished controlling software too! DO NOT BUY ONE OF THESE unless you want a headache.

Forsale: Holux 200 USB, complete with poorly translated manuals and hours of migraine headaches.
