are we talking about a AC-DC PS.. if so, I don't think there should be any voltage on the screws, as they are normally connected to ground together on teh computer PS case...
I was finishing up my plexicase for my new in-car computer last night, and I mouted the power supply on the lid with metal screws not thinking that there would be any problem. Then, while lifting the lid, two fingers hit two screws and ZAP! I was doing my July 4th imitation. I measured 50VAC going between those two screws. Not good.
Helpful tip for everyone out there. Use plastic screws when mounting your power supply.

I think one of the nuts was touching one of the the traces. The power supply was built for emachines, so it's only 3.5" x 3.5". I was surprised at the voltage reading too, but that's the only way I can explain it. But it's definately a good idea to use nylon screws instead of metal when mounting an unenclosed power supply.
Yeah I learn't that the hard way, had a few 240v zaps in mytime, and a nasty belt off a coil. Although I've yet to learn and I still use steal screws, oh well stupid is as stupid does, I suppose.

all part of the fun.. u aint a true tech-head until you've had that feelin of 150V/240V thru ya body![]()
Project - GAME OVER :(
Just got to ask, does 6v @ 60A count?
Yes we measured 60A on this after i zapped my self, we needed one huge ammetre to measure it too. That explaines the crimp terminal imprint burnt into my hand. :/

You must have some low skin resistance hornet. Even at 240V only 20-40mA will pass trough the body in your average electric shock (It's still plenty enough to kill in quite a few cases). So even if the 6V source was capable of producing 60A only a tiny current would actually pass shrough your body if you came into contact with it. Unless perhaps you just got out of the shower![]()
So it seems even ohms law applies to us humans. The moral of the story is to get yourself tested with a megga regularly.
I regularily take 500,000V off my Tesla Coil...![]()

You can have a lot of fun (at someone elses expense) if you chuck a 9v battery in a toilet (make sure it's a metal one) and don't use the toilet afterwards
