Just a word of warning for those of you who find that 'domainname.com' is taking, so you choose to take 'domainname.org'. I created a website last year called www.cpubuilder.com. And it just so happened that the company Stratitech, had a line of products called cpubuilderS (which are sold at Sam's club exclusively). I was forced to give up the name and sign lots of documents, or else I could have been sued.

Actually, You could have fought that one. Especially today, their claim wouldn't be valid because your business name does not directly infringe on their trademark, and if you're in a different line of business, then you're equally entitled to use that name.

Their argument was that my site and their product dealt with computer hardware, and my website was causing 'confusion in the marketplace.'

    www.theoffspring.com

I nabbed this one up a while back, i was SO suprised that it wasn't taken, considering the band was famous world wide at the time!

I have yet to have them barking down my door for the name, although they offered to buy it from me for 1k a year or so ago.

Anyone wanna buy it for like lots and lots of money?
