comment I found short sighted and elitist but I've marked you as such and will remember to address that in future posts.
    This comment makes no sense.
How is a person short-sighted and elitist because they recommend doing your own research? If a librarian tells you to look up your own information in the card catalog, does that make the librarian short-sighted and elitist?

Such comments aren't informative or necessary so ultimately additional wasted time.
Such comments are also honest and accurate. If you don't like honesty and accuracy, you should find another set of forums.

I hope this helps you become a better poster.
    This cracks me up.
You're saying that one of the most helpful members of this forum will use your tidbits of "wisdom" (used extremely loosely) to become a better poster? You refuse to look up anything yourself on these forums, which means you'll never read the many helpful posts and FAQs that have been compiled by Red. I sincerely doubt that you will do much of anything to make her posts any better, unless you're providing hot girl-on-girl porn.
Except that's a violation of the rules of these forums. Oh well, I guess there's nothing you can do to help improve her posts. Pity.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?

Damnit, I just rapidshared some good porn too.

My 2 cents: Most people don't use headunits because they are expensive and don't help at all. But its still a PC and it will still crash, so you better have a headunit or a kill switch in case the sound card screws up communicating to the driver and you can't stop it from playing crap.

It has been my experience that most librarians are near-sighted. Just my 2 cents.

I can see where you veterans are coming from not wanting to spoon feed the new guys as I am a veteran of another car forum, but dang guys, use some tact and people skills when conversing. No need to hammer the noobs and drive them away.

Fact: This hobby requires the ability to research and think on your own and come up with creative solutions.
Fact: There is no all-inclusive instruction manual for putting together a carPC, so anyone attempting an install has to figure some elements out to make it work.
Fact: Many members have spent many hours compiling information to be located, and pointing anyone interested in this hobby is the best way to get them started.

Sorry if you don't like the way we try to implement that philosophy.

I didn't see anyone bashing, what I said was matter of fact, it was like making a statement.

telling someone that if they aren't comfortable doing a lot of research, it's suggested that they find another hobby, is nothing more than the truth. Can't handle the truth, that's not my problem. You can't sugar coat life.

I ran both together for a while, but ditched it in the end, with the new HQCT the need for one was gone, Ditch the Head Unit if Radio isnt a priority at this time, i miss Radio but the easier install made up for it, not running RCAs the lenght of the car etc.
    P4 Celeron 2.2 - 512MB - OPUS 250 - Audigy SE - BU353 - HQCT - No Speakers though :-(
