Wow, I think I'm gonna get one to play with. The one thing that would make this perfect would be a NAS type of device/interface.

Wonder if it offers some kind of upgradeable firmware to support future codecs. As cheap as it is, probably not.
sorry for not knowning, but whats a NAS interface ?Originally Posted by Tidder
also, i dont think updating the firmware would be a big deal on these days.. support is the only problem, all these are made in china and come frm the manufacturer directly...
network attached storage. So you can transfer stuff to it across a network, instead of USB, might of been a little bit faster transfer.
oh, they have another product that does that.. but it doesnt have the ability to play the media files.Originally Posted by Tidder

ggrrr i want to try it but im broke!
Yeah, after looking at it a bit more, they do support the 480mbps "high speed" usb 2.0, which is ok for me.Originally Posted by gagan512
Some of those extremely cheap items say they'll do USB 2.0, but it'll only be the 2.0 "full speed", which runs at like 12mbps.
Now who is going to mod the case a little, put a small LCD, paint a "ipod" logo on it and then tell his friends is the new ipod.......
Me!
Thanatos.
