Installing graphics card with no vga?...

Hi guys,
Not really a carpc question but i have finished that! :0
Now going to build myself a home pc and have been looking at components..
I notice that the high-end motherbords dont come with on-board video.
How do you go about installing the graphis card? I cant even see how you can installl windows without using a moniter and watching whats going on?
This has confused me, Thanks!

most video cards work right out of the box, they might not work well, or to their full potential, but you can get basic video from them

Windows will install a generic VGA driver that will allow you basic graphics functionality until you install the drivers that are specific to your card or chipset.

In response to this particular point, if the motherboard doesn't have on-board video, then you need to get a seperate video card (PCI Express, AGP, or PCI, depending on the slots the motherboard has), hook up the video card to the motherboard, THEN boot. You can install the drivers later, which is what the other posts seemed to be referring to.
