Does anyone know of a way to retain the steering wheel controls on an '06 VW GTI if I were to install a PC? I've found a kit that works with stereos, but have no idea how to adapt it to a PC. Is there any easy way of getting it to work?

Sorry, I should have been a bit more specific.
The reason I don't think something like this will work is that in my car, all the steering wheel functionality runs through the MFD (multi function display) in the gauge cluster before hitting the stereo. The kits that I've seen for aftermarket stereos basically emulate the stock stereo so that the MFD and steering wheel controls continue to function normally. Without this, the thinking from most people is that the MFD and steering wheel controls won't do anything, so simply capturing the inputs from the steering wheel and relaying them to the PC is going to be near impossible without completely hacking apart the wiring for the MFD.
