Should I dump the LCD screen?

I have been thinking about this a lot lately. I mean now that my system is all up and running I am finding that I will never watch a dvd on the system. And I will probably never play any emulated games on it either.

So my question is: would it be a good idea to just install a character lcd instead?

As I see it, the benefit of the smaller lcd is that it would be a nice, cleaner installation, as opposed to the 8.4" lcd I have on the dash. Also, it would be nice to have a few hundred extra dollars after selling the screen and controller and what not.

The problems I am running into are what is the best way to navigate the songs without a true graphical interface, how will I update my songs (currently I just put a cd into the dvd rom and copy files over). And finally, although we all know this shouldn't really matter, will my in car mp3 player coolness factor experience a significant dropoff without an 8.4" LCD?

Thanks in advance for any insights.

    Keep the screen!
    1) Very big on the coolness factor even with just running visuals through winamp. 2) If you need the extra coin work overtime at work for a couple of days. The way i see it is if it looks good mounted in your car keep it cuz the minute you take it out your dash and see it installed in someone else's car you'll be kickin yourself.
GTI - Palm IIIe controlled with Radio faceplate hack for keyboard control of WinAmp w/ Vocal Genre playlist loading.
VW Bus - 10.4" vga lcd. Loaded with same software as above.

and if it doesn't look good....

Spend some time and make it look more integrated. Thats what I have been doing on each generation of my system
