Can you solve this computer puzzle?

Ok here is my problem... I have this laptop that works. I bought it with the screen broken. I removed the screen and cut the wires to the power switch on the screen. I striped the 3 wires that went to the switch. I'm now trying to turn on the laptop with the 3 wires. I have turned it on 3-4 times already. Everytime it was sorta a different combination! I cant get the laptop to turn on anymore. I'm stumped. I would turn it on and know exacty what 2 wires did it. Turn it off w/o moving it.. and tried it again.. nothing. I removed the powercord/battery.. plug it back in and the combination worked. That worked 3-4 times but now it dosent anymore.. Anyone have any idea how to get this laptop to turn on w/ these 3 wires?

Where the wires were cut from. It has a LOCK on there.. thats why there is a 3rd wire I think.

Forget the pics. Beep out (check for continuity) on the contacts of the original switch. Viola, you know which ones need to be connected to turn it on, that is, assuming, you haven't effed anything up by connecting all these wires together haphazardly.

Just connecting wires together randomly in a computer wasn't the best approach ...

Well I knew 3 wires turn it up.. so cutting then and trying to turn it on by the 3 wires is not bad.. i don't think i fried anything.

one thing I can tell you, is that laptop is not a laptop at all, it was a tablet, & the hinge assy usually has switches in it that may be afecting what your doing, there are switches that sense the orientation of the screen for autoflipping from lanscape to portrait, & also, usually there is a switch in there that determines if the lid is opened or closed... if it thinks the lid is closed it'll do nothing... hope this clue helps

How do you know that "3 wires turn it up"? Did you beep out the switch like I suggested? If you have not, then you have no idea what wires turn it on. The ONLY way to be 100 percent sure is to test it with a meter.

1) i cut the 3 wires that went to the power on switch..unlike JFK.. there is no ghost wire.
2) i have already powered up the laptop w/ the 3 wires.

You must actually be eating Yellow Snow.

Just because the power switch HAS 3 WIRES, DOESN'T MEAN THAT THE 3 WIRES ARE SHORTED/CONNECTED together to start and/or stop the computer when the button is pushed. WHO SAID ANYTHING ABOUT A 4th WIRE. You made a BAD ASSUMPTION, that the 3 wires OBVIOUSLY get connected when you push the button. THAT IS NOT NECESSARILY CORRECT. It is QUITE possible that one of those wires is positive or negative, and when one of the other 2 wires touch positive or negative, IT SHORTED THE ELECTRONICS OUT. Most likely, it is GROUND, and used to GROUND the actual metal of the switch, to avoid static discharge, or for some other reason. NOT TO GET CONNECTED TO THE POWER SWITCH WIRES.

Just because you got it to power up 3 times, DOESN'T MEAN YOU DIDN'T BREAK IT ON THE FOURTH.

Stop being an idiot, and listen to what we are telling you. HAVE YOU BEEPED OUT THE SWITCH YET? Probably not because you think you know better, right?

You are asking for our help, yet when we tell you what we think/know, YOU INSIST THAT WE ARE WRONG.

Well then genius, WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOUR LAPTOP?

I know, YOU EFFED IT UP WHEN YOU CONNECTED WIRES TOGETHER THAT YOU DID NOT KNOW HOW TO DO IT.
