Let's think about this from the standpoint of a person just showing up on the scene. He's most likely going to see mp3car.com and mp3car.org and assume they are the same or just not know what's going on. Why not offer to take over on the site? Look in mp3car's whois listing and give him a call if necessary.

I just think it'll cause more harm than good to have two seperate, but identical sites.

*Edit* Or fax, if necessary. Fax = 410-825-3240 Did you try [email protected]?

I could host mp3car if Moon doesn't want to host it anymore - I run my own ISP and bandwidth is no problem.

    Lemme know if interested.

[email protected] doesnt exist anymore, as @Home went bankrupt. It might be @ any of the cable isp's now. I think that if moon can't be reached, a second portal until he does respond wouldn't be a bad thing. A second BB, however, I think would be a bad idea, splitting up the already small community. Just have mp3cars.org the "spiritual sister site to mp3car.com" or some such *****, and just point those that find that portal at this forum. And for the moment, I'm also my own host, and I have mp3cars.net (which points at my site ), but since I just moved the nameservers back to my actual hosting machine, I could probably host it, atleast to start out with.

HTML, PHP, and SQL coder here. I'd be willing to help with anything. Mp3car.com really needs a makeover.

    Moon, where art thou?

Can anyone get a full whois query on this site? I just get the nameservers and not the contact info.

I know MooN personally. I know that the site hasn't changed much in over two years and I think we all would like to see something happen. I'll talk to him when I see him Monday and see what's up.

I know there have been treads in the past of suggestions, maybe if someone wants to compile a list of the top 5-10 ideas for change. That way when I talk to him I can have a short list of major points.

I'll see what I can do, but it's ultimately his site.

He wouldn't have to give it up, only let a few people who frequent the board often to add articles, or maintain the examples page. It's a lot of work for just one person, so allowing many to work on it will definately benefit the site. Obviously, there are a lot of talented people ready to help out any way they can.

I apprechiate what your saying, but might it be worth waiting a while, give Moon a few weeks to respond?

    Everyone

As regards up dating the site, I'd be more than happy to help, not sure what I can add, html, javascriptting, content. Also when did Charles ceace to me a moderator?
